DETAILED PROCEDURE
Set up this activity in pairs. Explain calmly to the children: "The most demanding leadership context is one where the people you're leading hold fundamentally different identities, values, and experiences. This is the world. Learning to lead across difference is the highest form of the skill."
Step 1
Present these challenges: different cultural communication norms / different relationships to authority / different histories with the institution / different stakes in the outcome.
Step 2
Inclusive leadership practices: slow down and observe before deciding / make explicit the power dynamics at play / actively redistribute voice / acknowledge different experiences without homogenizing them.
Step 3
Say gently to the children: "Leading a room where everyone is like you is training wheels. Leading a genuinely diverse room is the real thing."
Step 4
Lead a structured diverse-group activity using all 4 inclusive leadership practices.
