DETAILED PROCEDURE
This activity works best one-on-one, or with one child at a time within a small group. Explain calmly to the child: "Between feeling something and doing something, there is a tiny gap. That gap is where your superpower lives."
Step 1
Explain: our first emotional impulse is fast. Our best response needs a few seconds.
Step 2
Practice: teacher reads a triggering scenario, children count to 5 before responding.
Step 3
Say gently to the child: "Those 5 seconds aren't weakness. They're you choosing to drive, not be driven."
Step 4
Invite the children to keep a pause ledger: log 3 times they used the pause this week and what happened next.

PROGRESS INDICATORS
