5-6 years
Me with Nature
30-45 min
Learning goal :
Learning to care for living things
Pedagogical Intention :
Developing empathy towards the non-human world
Target skills :
Developing empathy toward non-human living beings. Moving from observation to a simple act of care.
Materials :
Magnifying glasses + Natural space or schoolyard
Detailed procedure :
1. Discussion: 'Who lives in our schoolyard without us noticing?'
2. Guided observation with magnifying glasses: insects, worms, lichens
3. Each group adopts a small creature and observes it for one week
4. Simple research: what does it eat? Where does it live? What is its role?
5. Creation of an 'ambassador' poster for their creature
Progress Indicators :
Attention to the living world: Stops spontaneously to observe an insect, plant, or bird - a gaze of care rather than indifference.
Caring gesture toward the living world: Performs a concrete caring gesture (watering, not stepping on, picking up litter).
Empathy toward the non-human: Expresses concern for a non-human living being: "The plant is thirsty," "The worm is scared."
Responsibility toward a living being: Maintains a regular commitment to a living being (plant, tree, garden bed) over time.
Research Foundations :
Forest School. / PPN.
