No materials needed
Settle outside on a sunny day, sitting in a circle.
Step 1

Step 2
Allow 3 minutes of silent presence with closed eyes.
Step 3
Ask: 'Where do you feel the warmth? Is it gentle or strong?'
Step 4
Invite the children to observe the light around them - on leaves, on the ground.
Step 5
Step 6
Contemplation posture: The child lies down or sits quietly outside, eyes open, without adult prompting.
Slowing of the gaze: The child follows a slow natural element (cloud, bird, sun) with their eyes without getting up or speaking, until it disappears from view.
Naming a contemplative feeling: The child spontaneously expresses a feeling after contemplation.
Grounding and presence in the moment: The child closes their eyes or remains still for 2 to 15 minutes (depending on age) without seeking distraction or peer interaction.
