Paper, AI image generator or AI-generated images.
Detailed Procedure :
Step 1: The Creation Challenge (15 min) The class is split into two workshops without knowing what the other group is doing: Workshop A (The Free Artists): "Draw a monster that is afraid of the dark. You have free rein to express this emotion." Workshop B (The Code Executors): They must produce a drawing following strict mathematical rules: "Draw a 5 cm circle, add 4 identical eyes, 12 pointed teeth, use only blue and gray." (If using AI on a tablet, they type the corresponding prompt.) Step 2: The Anonymous Gallery (5 min) The teacher numbers each drawing and displays them on the board or table. "Free" and "algorithmic" productions are carefully mixed together.
Step 3: The Jury Interrogation (15 min) Students become "Turing Investigators." They examine each work with a mission: find clues of imitation. Clues sought: Are the lines too perfect? Are there strange repetitions? Do we feel an emotion, or is it just an assembly of objects? Each student votes secretly for each drawing.
Step 4: The Big Reveal and Debate (10 min) We reveal who made what. The debate begins: "Why did you think drawing #3 was made by a machine?" (Often because of perfect symmetry or lack of human 'disorder'.) "Was the AI afraid of the dark to draw the monster?" (No, it just searched its database for what resembles 'monster' and 'fear'.)
