DETAILED PROCEDURE
Set up this activity in pairs. Explain calmly to the children: "Asking for forgiveness is harder than apologizing. An apology says 'I'm sorry.' Asking for forgiveness says 'I want our relationship to be repaired.'"
Step 1
Teach the structure: acknowledge what you did + why it was wrong + ask (not demand) for forgiveness + accept whatever answer they give.
Step 2
Critical: you cannot demand or expect forgiveness. It's a gift the other person gives freely.
Step 3
Say gently to the children: "When you ask for forgiveness, you're putting the relationship in the other person's hands. That's vulnerable. That's courageous."
Step 4
Role play and debrief: how does it feel to ask? To receive the question?
Step 5
Step 6

Step 10
PROGRESS INDICATORS
The child uses the 4-part forgiveness request structure in a role play.
The child accepts a 'not yet' response without pressuring.
The child distinguishes asking from demanding forgiveness.
