Learning goal :
Learning to Be Happy in a Group
Pedagogical Intention :
Ability to Set Personal Limits (Saying No)
Target skills :
Ongoing consent, Consent withdrawal, Check-in naturalization
Materials :
Ongoing consent scenario cards, consent renegotiation practice
Detailed procedure :
1. Introduction: "Consent in any relationship is not a contract signed once. It is an ongoing conversation - something that can be given, withdrawn, renegotiated, and must be actively checked."
2. Key principles: consent can be withdrawn at any time / past consent doesn't create present consent / enthusiasm can change / 'I changed my mind' is always valid / pressure that follows a no makes the yes that follows meaningless.
3. Practice: check-in conversations that feel natural rather than clinical - 'How are you feeling about this?' / 'Are you still comfortable?'
4. Script: "The relationship that handles changing minds with grace is the relationship worth having."
5. Role play: navigate 4 scenarios where consent is renegotiated mid-interaction.
Progress Indicators :
States all 5 key consent principles accurately. Practices natural check-in language in 4 scenarios. Responds to a withdrawn consent in a role play with full acceptance.
