Restorative conversation protocol card (4 questions)
DETAILED PROCEDURE
Set up this activity in pairs. Explain calmly to the children: "After a conflict, fixing the damage to the relationship matters more than deciding who was right."
Step 1
Teach the 4 restorative questions:
Step 2
What happened (from each side)?
Step 3
What were you thinking and feeling?
Step 4
Who was affected and how?
Step 5
What do we need to move forward?
Step 6
Step 7
Model with a puppet scenario.
Step 8
Say gently to the children: "The goal isn't punishment or winning. It's repairing the relationship."
Step 9
Have students practice in triads (two parties + one facilitator who asks the questions).
Step 10
PROGRESS INDICATORS
The child asks all 4 restorative questions as facilitator.
The child completes the protocol as a participant in a real or simulated conflict.
The child distinguishes restorative conversation from argument.
