DETAILED PROCEDURE
Set up this activity in pairs. After a significant social moment (conflict, success, exclusion, collaboration), child writes or draws in their journal.
Step 1
Provide the prompt: "What happened? How did you feel? What did your body do?"
Step 2
Invite the child to identify at least 2 emotions - including any contradictions: "I was happy we won AND I felt bad for the other team."
Step 3
Say gently to the children: "Your feelings don't have to agree with each other. Two can be true at the same time."
Step 4
Optional: share one sentence with a partner (never mandatory).
