Set up this activity in pairs. Step in during a real disagreement between two children.
Step 1
Offer the script: "I disagree with your idea, but I'm still listening."
Step 2
Invite the children to negotiate to find a 'third idea' that works for both.
Step 3
Seal their agreement with a handshake to validate mutual respect.
