Detailed procedure :

1. Teacher offers mediation after a child has apologized to a peer.
2. Uses the bridge image: "Your friend is apologizing. Are you ready to cross the bridge and go play with them again?"
3. Child clearly expresses their choice: 'Yes, I accept' or 'Not yet - I need a little moment.'
4. Adult carefully respects the child's pace and helps them express a need for a delay if forgiveness isn't immediate.
