Detailed procedure :

1. Teacher observes calmly when a peer is crying: "Look at their face... their joy tank is a little empty."
2. Offers a care action: "Their heart has a little boo-boo - want to bring them a stuffed animal or tissue?"
3. Adult physically guides child to perform the comfort gesture toward their classmate.
4. They close by observing the change: "Look at their smile coming back - your heart is happy you helped."

Progress Indicators :

Accepts to make a gentle gesture and observes the other's reaction.
