Set up this activity in pairs. One child gives their opinion on a chosen topic.
Step 1
Teach active listening by saying: "Before giving your own opinion, repeat back what your friend just said."
Step 2
Invite the child to rephrase the partner's words to validate their active listening.
Step 3
Then allow the children to add and express their own opinion.
