DETAILED PROCEDURE
Gather the whole group together in a circle for this activity. Approach the child and crouches to eye level to make reassuring contact.
Step 1
Name the physical state by saying: "Your body is moving like a volcano. Let's help the lava cool down."
Step 2
Offer to breathe together 'belly to belly' or to squeeze a cushion tight.
Step 3
Validate the return to calm: "The volcano is sleeping - your body is ready now."
