DETAILED PROCEDURE

Gather the whole group together in a circle for this activity. Set up a scenario where children practice a small argument to practice resolution.

Step 1

Introduce the sports metaphor by saying: "I'm giving a red card to violent actions and a green card to respectful words."

Step 2

Invite the child to practice explaining their need or displeasure calmly, without yelling.

Step 3

Invite the children to find together a resolution or compromise that works for both.
