Gather the whole group together in a circle for this activity. One child tells a personal memory or experience to a classmate.
Step 1
Give the rephrasing script: "Before responding, say: I heard that you..."

Invite the child to summarize their peer's words in their own words.

The original speaker validates understanding: "Yes, that's exactly it."
