Pedagogical Intention :
Finding Solutions Based on Everyone's Emotions
Target skills :
Community-level repair, Collective accountability, Group trust restoration
Materials :
Community repair protocol (acknowledge → impact → collective responsibility → action), group repair design
Detailed procedure :
1. Introduction: "When a conflict damages not just two people but the whole group's trust and climate, the whole group needs to be part of the repair."
2. Examples: a group betrayal / a class where one incident changed everything / a team that lost trust after a serious disagreement.
3. Community repair protocol:
Acknowledge what happened (collective, factual, no blame)
Name the impact on the community
Identify collective responsibility (even non-actors)
Design a collective action to rebuild
4. Script: "Community damage needs community repair. One person's apology doesn't fix what happened to all of us."
5. Design and carry out a class community repair for a real or recent group fracture.
Progress Indicators :
Participates in a community repair process authentically. Identifies their own role in a group problem (even as non-actor). Contributes to and follows through on a collective repair action.
