Materials : 

Social action project planning template, community needs assessment tool

Detailed procedure :

1. Introduction: "The ultimate expression of social problem-solving isn't fixing one conflict. It's changing the conditions that create conflict in the first place."
2. Students identify a real social problem in their school or community: exclusion patterns / unequal access to resources / persistent interpersonal dynamics that harm people.
3. Root cause analysis: why does this exist? What conditions maintain it?
4. Design a social action project: small, specific, feasible, measurable.
5. Script: "You don't need to solve everything. You need to move one thing, one degree, in a better direction."
6. Implement, evaluate, iterate. Present findings to the class.

Progress Indicators :

Identifies a real community problem with root causes. Designs and implements a specific social action project. Presents outcomes and reflects on what they'd do differently.
