DETAILED PROCEDURE

Gather the whole group together in a circle for this activity. Explain calmly to the children: "The hardest disagreements aren't about facts. They're about values - and both sides can genuinely be right, from within their own value system."

Step 1

Use these dilemmas: fairness vs. kindness / individual freedom vs. group welfare / honesty vs. loyalty.

Step 2

For each: identify the value each side is protecting. Understand why both are defensible.

Step 3

Say gently to the children: "When two values collide, the answer isn't always obvious. Sometimes the goal is to find the least harmful path, not the 'right' answer."

Step 4

Personal hierarchy: develop a personal ethical priority order and defend it.
