DETAILED PROCEDURE

Gather the whole group together in a circle for this activity. Explain calmly to the children: "Leadership isn't a position. It's a set of choices about how you show up for others. You get to decide what kind of leader you are."

Step 1

Analyze 3 exemplars of different leadership styles: servant leader / inspirational leader / technical expert leader.

Step 2

Invite the children to draft a personal leadership philosophy: 3 principles they commit to, regardless of whether they have a formal role.

Step 3

Say gently to the children: "The most powerful leadership statement isn't 'I want to be in charge.' It's 'I want to make things better for everyone - whether or not I'm in charge.'"

Step 4

Apply the philosophy in an upcoming group project; evaluate afterward.

PROGRESS INDICATORS
