DETAILED PROCEDURE

Gather the whole group together in a circle for this activity. Explain calmly to the children: "Our limits are shaped by our culture, our family, and our community. Sometimes what our culture expects and what our body or values signal don't align."

Step 1

Explore: cultural and family expectations about sharing personal things / saying no to elders / group conformity / individual assertion.

Step 2

Discussion: how do you honor your cultural context AND your personal limits?

Step 3

Say gently to the children: "Your culture shaped you - and you are allowed to have thoughts about which parts you want to carry forward and which you want to examine."

Step 4

Personal reflection: one place where cultural expectations and personal limits are in tension for you.
