DETAILED PROCEDURE

Gather the whole group together in a circle for this activity. Explain calmly to the children: "Some people say 'it's just online.' But your nervous system doesn't know the difference. Online rejection, exclusion, and humiliation hurt just as much as the real thing."

Step 1

Have students track their emotional responses to digital interactions for 1 week: group chats, social media posts, being left out of a message thread.

Step 2

Analyze: which platforms generate which emotions? What triggers the strongest reactions?

Step 3

Say gently to the children: "Your emotional reactions online are real data about what matters to you. Use them as information, not just discomfort."

Step 4

Develop: 3 personal digital emotional hygiene practices based on the audit.
