DETAILED PROCEDURE
Set up this activity in pairs. Explain calmly to the children: "After a serious rupture, words matter enormously - but the wrong words make things worse. Understanding what healing language actually sounds and feels like is a high-level skill."
Step 1
Hollow language: vague apologies / explanations that center the apologizer / conditional repair ('I'm sorry IF you felt hurt') / premature reconciliation.
Step 2
Healing language: specific acknowledgment / full responsibility / impact-focused (not intent-focused) / unconditional / followed by changed behavior.
Step 3
Say gently to the children: "Healing language isn't designed to make you feel better. It's designed to make the person you hurt feel understood."
Step 4
Write a full repair communication for a real or realistic serious rupture scenario - then evaluate it against the framework.
